A vintage tram operates from MacKay’s Crossing entrance, travelling 1.85 km to Whareroa Beach and playground area.
A unique collection of local history items and radio communications equipment. Open Saturday & Sunday 2pm to 4pm (also open most Public Holidays 2pm to 4pm – check first if travelling).
Displays of New Zealand pioneer history and general aviation. Sunday 10:00am - 4:00pm
We have police uniform dress ups and the M.O.T. motorbike; they make a great photo opportunity for the young and the young at heart! We have new programmes each holidays. Open from 10am – 5pm every day except Christmas Day & Good Friday
Otaki Museum - “Gathering, Preserving and Sharing the Stories of Otaki”. Otaki Museum is a small local museum. Open Thursday, Friday and Saturday (during exhibitions) between 10:00am – 2:00pm. There is two to three weeks down time between exhibitions so visitors may wish to phone the Museum before visiting.
Railway memorabilia, tools, early kitchen, local Maori history and historic Paekakariki photographs. Open 11:00am – 3:00pm Saturday, Sunday & Public Holidays, or by prior arrangement.
